Among the dances that take place in the carnival, the "Diablada" is the most representative. The dancer wears a mask that symbolizes the devil. This is not only the representation of the victory of justice over the wicked, but also the combination of traditional culture, Christian culture and folk art of indigenous people are vividly displayed. In 2001, UNESCO cataloged the Oruro Carnival as "Oral and Intangible Heritage of Humanity".
